SD card

Well i finally got my sd card - 16 gig class 6, seems to shoot 1080p fine. So 24 gig worth of memory for the road trip, that should be enough. I don't think I'll get many opportunities to upload pics while I'm on the road for the next two weeks but certainly will as soon as i gt back.

I have been spending most of my time working out, even attended a boxing class in here in Lompoc in an old fashioned boxing gym. Pepe, the instructor, is a young professional boxer and Ray the owner of the gym is quite a character as well. Will try to get a few pics of the boxing when i get back.

Garden Montage

Ok, first serious video. Spent the afternoon filming my sister's garden using just the 50mm prime. I shot on 720p HD at 60fps and exported to H.264 at 30fps - not sure how if it's come out ok because the computer i'm working is quite old and real time playback of HD isn't possible.

Beach at Santa Barbara

Took Yogi down to a beach in Santa Barbara. I didn't get many pictures as i was more keen on getting some video though that didn't work out too well. Overall a little disappointed but still learning. ...oh, i managed to loose a lens cap.

video test

just some video tests using the 50mm prime lens, trying to get that narrow depth of field. Very tentative first steps in video, just getting used to the settings. Shall try and get some more meaningful video soon. No access to editing software yet so cannot do any colour correction:

California-first few pics

I arrived on Saturday after a reasonable flight, staying at my sister's on the central coast. Haven't been any where yet but a few opportunities to photograph sister's pets and stuff. Still need to pick up another sd card - class 6 ones are hard to come by.
The weather is beautiful and we had a barbecue on Sunday.

California

I'm off to sunny California tomorrow for three months. A lot of great photo opportunities. I'll be on a road trip with a freind from the 28th June till the 13th of July , and the only place we are booking in advance is Las Vegas where we hope to be watching the world cup final. I can't wait! I'm going to have to invest in another SDcard as I'm going to be taking a lot of snaps so keep your eyes peeled!
