Taken on a fine day at Speaker's Corner. A place where any half wit can stand on a milk crate and get an audience. Wonderful British tradition.

"gull collected"

So I woke up the next morning to find a note posted through my door saying
"gull collected, thanks"

Hopefully it was alright.

Found this bird

Wasn't planning to use my camera but...
I found this bird outside the house in a flowerbed. I don't know how long it had been there but it looked very weak. It couldn't seem to move except for it's head. I left some water and bread nearby and phoned the RSPCA. They told me to leave it be and someone would be around tomorrow to rescue it.
So i left it there, I'm not sure if it will make it through the night but what can I do? Keep you updated.

Some notable pictures from history

Looks at these pictures?
They look unremarkable.

But they are notable for being i) the first photograph ever taken! (1826)
(The blurred one)

ii) The first photo of a human(1838)
(the street view- you can just make the man out having his shoes polished)

These pictures were taken by french men Joseph Nicéphore Niépce and Louis Jacques-Mande Daguerre, pioneers in photography who, together, wnet on to produce the worlds first commerical photographic process, the Daguerreotype

Defintely more posts coming....all sorts of things on the way for photography enthusiasts.

Stock Photography

If you have a reasonably good camera and some good lenses you can make money by submitting your pics to microstock sites. I've started doing this with pics I've already taken. Things you have to consider: You need model releases if you take a pic of anyone and/or property releases for pictures of buildings...unless they are sold as editorial pictures(for news ), rules are clearly explained on sites.
Also some sites like 'shutterstock' are very picky when it comes to quality. Expect a LOT of pics rejected for inexplicable reasons. Still if you got a good pic hanging about your hard drive it might be worth uploading. It's free and you could earn some money.
